Meet Jen

Hi there, I'm Jen! I'm a DONA (Doulas of North America) trained birth and postpartum doula. My friends would describe me as intuitive and passionate. I love to spend my time outside of birth work reading suspense novels, teaching myself to paint, and spending time with my family and cats. I'm an introvert, but I'm always up for a conversation when it comes to birth (or cats!) My interest in doula work was sparked after my first birth, which was a textbook hospital birth. Despite having close family members there (and to no fault of their own), I felt unsupported and overall unfulfilled. As I learned more about the role of a doula I became passionate about offering the emotional, physical, and informational support that I so needed at my first birth. For my second birth I had a doula, and that experience further instilled in me that being supported in birth can positively impact a person and how they see themselves throughout their life.

My passion for supporting new parents during the postpartum time came about when I saw the lack of support our society offers new parents. I work hard to bring a sense of calm, groundedness, and knowledge to all of my postpartum clients. Whether I'm working a daytime shift or overnight, I just loves knowing that I'm helping new parents to get some rest, allow their anxieties to settle a bit, and gain more confidence and skills as they ease into parenthood.

I provide inclusive care for all families, and honor who my clients are as individuals with their own unique preferences. The intuition of birthing people is powerful, especially during this time of creation. While some things may drown out that inner knowing, I work to empower my clients to trust that they are the expert on their bodies and babies in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
