My favorite thing about being a doula is:

To be able to empower and support new parents and to see them thrive as a result.

Johanna, Salt Lake City sleep consultant and postpartum doula

Hi, I'm Johanna. I'm a certified postpartum doula and gentle sleep coach and I moved to Utah from Germany in 2024. I have a deep appreciation for the mountains, hiking, and being a 'dog mom,' and I find joy in the natural beauty of my new home.

I hold a BSc and MSc in Psychology and my passion for supporting families led me to become a postpartum doula. My journey into this work began when I helped my former nanny family adjust to life with three children under the age of four. It was during this time that I realized my calling: to support parents during one of the most transformative times in their lives.

I'm passionate about working with families from all sorts of cultural backgrounds and I find great fulfillment in seeing parents thrive and grow confident in their roles. While I love taking care of babies, what truly excites me is helping parents build confidence, connect with their babies, and adjust to life as a family.

As a gentle sleep coach, I help parents navigate the world of newborn sleep and create healthy, realistic sleep habits that promote rest for both babies and parents alike. With my background in psychology and my compassionate approach, I'm committed to making each family feel supported, informed, and empowered on their parenting journey.

When I'm not working, you can find me on a walk, at pilates or in bed with a show.
